Mental Arithmetic Puzzles
Mental arithmetic is something that we often do at school and then never do again, with calculators being the choice tool if we ever need to do some quick sums. Here is a sample addition puzzle.
However with the current revival of interest in keeping your brain healthy and active with mental exercise, testing your ability to do mental arithmetic and spot patterns to help you sum things quickly, there has been more interest again in this sort of puzzle.
So here is a selection of 100 puzzles whereby your ability to work out which numbers sum to a particular total are put to the test. The aim is to time yourself and see if you can get steadily quicker and quicker over time. Try doing two to three puzzles a day for a month. By the end of the month, you should be able to work out the answers notably quicker and feel more confident at manipulating numbers in your head.
